- Frank Scherschel was the famous Photographer who stormed into Normandy with the soldiers during WWII. Only 17 pictures survived.
- Frank Scherschel returned in 1972 and opened a camera store in Baraboo. His founders were his wife Jean and other family members like his two brothers and one daughter.
